Create and share screencaptures (photos and videos) with this great free program from Techsmith (makers of Camtasia Studio screen capture software). Camtasia is a very cool program but it’s very expensive but Jing is free. After you create your captures you can upload them to Screencast.com (comes with Jing download) which is also free for up to 2GB storage and 2GB transfer per month. Once you upload your screencaste you can send a link to it via email, post the link on a website or embed screencapture directly in website.

What is “cloud computing“? Simply put it’s the use of resource on the Internet to get things done (doing work or being creative).
In the old days you went to a search engine and typed a topic in, you clicked on search and came up links to match your query. You went to the page you read what was there and saw the pictures. That was it! Over the years pictures started moving and then sound but what you did on the net was pretty much the same.
Today with the help of some visionary programmers you can now react with a site in a way that could make some applications on your computer obsolete. Instead of using a program you can to a site like Photoshop Express to edit and share photos. You could create and collaborate with others on a family tree with Geni. You can create and collaborate on text documents and spreadsheets with Google Docs and others. There is so much more you can do with cloud computing. These sights are numerous but some are listed here at Lessfeet.
Geni is a tool for sharing family-trees and staying in touch with your family.
Geni lets you create a family tree through the fun simple interface. You can expand your tree by adding relatives’ email addresses. They will be invited to join your tree and can add other relatives. Your tree will continue to grow as relatives invite other relatives.
Each family member has a profile which can be viewed by clicking their name in the tree. This helps family members learn more about each other and stay in touch. Family members can also share photos and work together to build profiles for common ancestors.
Geni is private. Only the people in your family tree can log in to your tree and your profile. Geni will not share your personal information with third parties. We will not sell your email address or spam you. Users control which communications they would like to receive from us.
Geni was founded by former executives and early employees of PayPal, Yahoo! Groups, Ebay, and Tribe. It is backed by venture capital firms Founders Fund and Charles River Ventures.
I found many GIMP tutorials on Youtube. If you don’t know about GIMP it is a great image manipulation (like Photoshop) program that is very powerful and absolutely free.
Pandora is a great Internet music service that allows you create stations based on your personal music taste. Lets say you like Elvis Presley, you tell Pandora you would like to hear Elvis and songs that sound like Elvis. Pandora will do just that.
Yes you can host your podcast (or any audio content) for the web) for free with Podserve (one of the Big In Japan. The other great thing about Podserve is that it create an RSS feed for you so you don’t have to figure out how to do that. I guess if your podcast got real popular they would ask you for money or something.
Organize your tech gadgets using a common pegboard that you can get at home depot. I’m going to do this when I get home today!
